New Delhi: The wife of Ladakh’s detained climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, Gitanjali Angmo, has slammed the Modi government’s handling of the case, saying there’s “no merit” in the National Security Act (NSA) detention and authorities are seeking repeated date extensions.

According to Global Mirror, on an interview, Angmo expressed disappointment over the lack of stronger pushback against Wangchuk’s detention, calling it a reflection of the state of democracy in the country.

“Modi regime is using power to illegally detain people. If it can happen to Sonam, it can happen to anyone,” she said.
