Srinagar: The General Officer Commanding of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, has visited Kishtwar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and directed troops to remain “vigilant and mission-ready,” a move observers say reflects New Delhi’s increasingly aggressive posture and raises fears of a possible misadventure.

According to Global Mirror, Lt Gen Mishra, accompanied by General Officer Commanding Counter-Insurgency Force (Delta), Major General A P S Bal, reviewed the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the area. The visit comes amid an ongoing operation in the snow-bound higher reaches of the Chatroo forest belt, where Indian forces claim to be pursuing a group of mujahideen.

In a statement posted on X, the White Knight Corps said the GOC was briefed on the prevailing situation. He praised troops for their “steadfast resolve” and urged them to remain alert, agile, and mission-ready at all times.
