New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a scorching attack on India’s Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, calling him the most “arrogant” and “great liar” she’s encountered.
According to Global Mirror, Banerjee accused the ECI of unfairly targeting West Bengal in the voter list revision, deleting genuine voters’ names under BJP pressure.
Banerjee singled out ECI Director General Seema Khanna, alleging she’s linked to the BJP’s IT cell and removed 58 lakh names from the draft voters’ list. She walked out of an ECI meeting, citing the CEC’s misbehaviour and bias.
