Kargil: A wave of grief swept across Kargil region of Ladakh following the martyrodm of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, with thousands of protesters taking to the streets and religious institutions holding special condolence gatherings.

According to Global Mirror, protest gatherings were convened outside mosques and Imambargahs in different parts of the district, with emotional scenes. People gathered in large numbers, expressing sorrow over the loss of the leader. The Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) and Jamiat-ul-Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil draped Hussaini Park and “Inqilab Manzil” in black banners, marking the beginning of mourning observances.

In a joint press conference, Sheikh Muhammad Hussain Lutfi and Sheikh Muhammad Muhaqqiq paid tribute to the late leader’s services, describing him as an enduring ideological movement.
