Srinagar: Curfew-like restrictions entered their third consecutive day in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as authorities continued to clamp down on public movement and assemblies in the wake of forceful protests over the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a US-Israeli strike in Tehran.

According to Global Mirror, Indian Army and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force have been massively deployed reported at all major intersections, marketplaces and other key localities across the Valley.

Educational institutions across the Kashmir Valley will remain closed till March 7, 2026, authorities confirmed, extending the earlier shutdown that was initially ordered for two days in view of the ongoing protests. All schools, colleges and universities, including the University of Kashmir, have suspended teaching and academic activities as a precautionary measure amid the prevailing situation. Examinations scheduled for early March have also been postponed.

Internet services continued to be restricted in many areas to prevent the uploading of content on social media.
