Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has demanded that the United Nations resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Two-Nation Theory and the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir without further delay, to ensure lasting peace and political stability in the region.
According to Global Mirror, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the restrictions imposed on senior APHC leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah despite the release order of the Indian Supreme Court. The statement said such actions demonstrate how the political voice of Kashmiris is being silenced by the Indian BJP government through brutal policies.
He lamented that the United Nations has taken no concrete steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute, emboldening India to continue its illegal occupation, perpetrate atrocities, and suppress the just struggle of Kashmiris through military force. He further stated that India has turned Kashmir into a vast prison by deploying over one million Indian troops and security agencies, granting them free rein to crush and silence the local population.
