United Nations : Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Asim Iftikhar has submitted a letter to the UN against India, expressing strong reservations over India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.

According to Global Mirror, the letter states that India’s unilateral actions are a threat to regional peace and security and the Security Council should intervene and make India implement its international obligations.

The letter draws the attention of the Security Council to the fact that India’s illegal decision to keep the Indus Waters Treaty suspended for a year is having serious peace, security and humanitarian consequences.
