Srinagar: The High Court of Indian illeglaly occupied Jammu Kashmir has granted bail to sitting councillor Smanla Dorje Nurboo and former MLA Deldan Namgail in a case linked to the September 2025 protest in Leh.
According to Global Mirror, Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani passed the order in Bail Applications No. 316/2025 and 320/2025. Both were in custody since late September 2025 over a case registered at Police Station Leh.
The prosecution alleged Nurboo’s September 23 press conference provoked violence on September 24, when mobs attacked police, torched vehicles and government buildings, and targeted the BJP office. Four people died and dozens of Indian forces personnel were injured.
