New Delhi : An old 2016 video of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi mocking Suvendu Adhikari over a bribery sting has resurfaced after Modi appointed Adhikari as West Bengal’s first BJP Chief Minister in 2026.

According to Global Mirror, the video, widely shared on social media, shows Modi publicly targeting Adhikari, then a Trinamool Congress leader, over footage showing him taking money on camera. Ten years later, Modi attended Adhikari’s oath-taking ceremony as CM.

Adhikari faced corruption allegations until his defection from TMC to BJP in 2020, after which the narrative around him shifted.
