Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Hurriyat leaders and pro-freedom organizations have strongly dismissed the allegations made by India-appointed Director General of Police (DGP) NalinPrabhat.

According to Global Mirror, addressing a press conference in Srinagar, the IIOJK DGP claimed that his forces were engaged in a “decisive battle against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and narco-terrorism”. It is pertinent to mention that NalinPrabhat, a non-Kashmiri officer, is regarded in Kashmir as a symbol of the RSS/BJP’s hardline security policy, which, Kashmir watchers say has deepened fear and repression through killings, arrests, raids, and human rights abuses.

The Hurriyat leaders, in their statements, described IIOJK DGP’s remarks as part of India’s long-standing campaign to malign Pakistan and undermine Kashmir’s indigenous freedom movement. They said the Kashmiri people’s struggle is a legitimate and internationally recognized movement for the right to self-determination, as guaranteed under relevant United Nations resolutions, and cannot be discredited through propaganda and baseless accusations.
