Pratapgarh: A Muslim elderly hawker was brutally assaulted, robbed, and subjected to communal abuse in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district in the latest incident targeting the minority community.

According to Global Mirror, Maqsood Ali, a resident of Derwa, was returning home around 4 PM when a man identified as Manoj stopped him in a village and launched a verbal and physical attack without provocation.

The victim said the attacker pulled his beard, forcibly removed his cap, and told him to “go to Pakistan” before snatching Rs 10,000 he was carrying. Ali sustained serious injuries after being beaten with sticks and rods. He said he managed to escape and reach home only after another person arrived at the scene.
