Imphal: Unidentified gunmen killed a truck driver and injured a police constable in violence-hit and BJP-ruled Indian state of Manipur.
According to Global Mirror, the incident occurred when a convoy of trucks carrying essential supplies, including rice and fuel, came under attack on the Imphal–Ukhrul road on Friday despite security cover provided by Indian forces.
The driver, identified as Nitish Kumar, 57, from West Bengal, was killed in the firing, while a 35-year-old police constable, Disingam Maringmei, sustained injuries.
